Harvest Home Meats, mission is to provide consistent, high-quality grass-fed beef to our customers through the use of sustainable agricultural practices and grazing techniques. Our family-owned and operated grass-based farms recognize the consumer’s value for healthy and wholesome products, which provide long-term benefits to the health and well-being of those you hold dear.
We also understand that the overall quality of our health is dependent on a diet of foods that have lived healthy lives and were raised ethically. To ensure and control this consistent high-quality grass-fed beef, we provide our cattle with a diverse swath of cool season perennial pasture with access to fresh water at all times throughout the growing season. During the dormant winter months, our cattle’s diet consists of a store of annual forages and hay.
Our grass-based agricultural practices ensure a quality of beef that is higher in healthy, disease-fighting Omega-3 fatty acids. Also, these agricultural practices contribute to superior flavor and tenderness. In fact, in 2008, expert chefs prepared our own and other grass-fed farmers’ beef, with no seasoning added, in the first annual Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA) Grass-fed Beef Cook-off. In this competition, our selection of beef was judged by a board of expert taste testers and took home the championship prize!!
To ensure the health benefits and high-quality of our products, we can also make the following guarantees:
1.) We don’t use chemical fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides, or fertilizers derived from human sewage on our pastures.
2.) Our cattle do not receive growth hormones or antibiotics.
3.) Our cattle are never fed grain or concentrates.
4.) Our cattle are on pasture throughout the growing season.
